The back bears a chilling invocation: “Make Contact”, paired with a genuine archival photograph from the 1920s of a séance conducted by William Hope, one of the most controversial and mysterious spirit photographers of the early 20th century. Hope was the founder of the Crewe Circle, a group of spiritualists who claimed to capture spirits on camera. Though many of his images were later deemed fraudulent, they remain eerily evocative — blurred windows into grief, longing, and belief.
