Captured 1/9/2016 near Devil's Den in Gettysburg, PA.
History:
Devil’s Den is a rocky outcrop on the Gettysburg Battlefield in Pennsylvania, known for its strategic significance during the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1–3, 1863). On July 2, 1863, it was the site of intense fighting between Union forces (mainly the 3rd Corps) and Confederate troops under Maj. Gen. John Bell Hood. The rough terrain and large boulders made it a natural defensive position, but after brutal combat, Confederate forces ultimately seized control. The area became infamous for the high number of casualties, particularly around "The Slaughter Pen", a nearby section filled with fallen soldiers.
Due to its violent past, Devil’s Den is one of Gettysburg’s most haunted locations. Visitors and paranormal investigators have reported ghostly apparitions, disembodied voices, and strange mists. A famous legend speaks of a mysterious barefoot man in ragged clothing, who appears and tells people, "What you’re looking for is over there," before vanishing. Some believe he is the ghost of a fallen Confederate soldier.
Additionally, phantom gunfire and drum sounds have been heard echoing through the rocks, and cameras often malfunction or capture strange anomalies.
