In 1977, it was transformed into a medium-security prison, housing hundreds of inmates at the height of the War on Drugs. After its closure in 2011, the prison’s once-bustling cell blocks, dormitories, and cottages were left to rot, their red-brick structures slowly consumed by time. Parts of the property have since been redeveloped, but the A3 dormitory remains a haunting reminder of the site’s darker legacy.
