This chilling Victorian portrait was unearthed in the hidden back room of a remote Appalachian flea market. The room was marked "HAUNTED" with no explanation. The air was still, thick with dust and whispers. On a shelf among cracked dolls and broken clocks sat this solemn face, gazing through the decades with the kind of stare that burrows into your spine. We knew she was perfect for Phantasmagoria.

Encased in a wooden frame adorned with ornate, gold-gilted corner embellishments, the photograph floats within a pool of blood-red backing. The thick, old glass front magnifies her features with eerie clarity. Her expression is stern, timeless, and unnervingly unreadable—as if waiting for something.

Flip the frame and you’ll find the maker’s mark stamped on the reverse:
Universal Manufacturing Co. – Pittsburgh, PA

We know little about the woman captured in this portrait. No name. No date. Only a heavy presence that seems to follow her wherever she’s placed.

Whether you're a collector of antique curiosities or a seeker of spirits, this is not merely a photograph—it’s a window. A relic. A keeper of stories that refuse to die.

Is this portrait actually haunted? Decide for yourself. If you have any experiences with her, please be sure to share them with us or tag us on Instagram @PhantasmagoriaOddities with your findings!
